TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. About GhostChat
GhostChat gives people a simple way to talk freely in real time without accounts, usernames, or stored messages. When you end a chat, everything disappears from our memory. The goal of GhostChat is privacy and freedom of expression, not secrecy for wrongdoing.
2. Who Can Use GhostChat
You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter a binding agreement. By using GhostChat, you agree to these Terms and confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. What You Can’t Do
We want GhostChat to be a private and safe space for everyone. You may not use GhostChat to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or harmful. This includes sharing or requesting child sexual abuse material, promoting or selling illegal drugs or weapons, threatening or harassing others, spreading hate, defrauding people, or violating someone’s privacy or intellectual property.
You also can’t interfere with how GhostChat works, send viruses or malware, try to hack or scrape our systems, or misuse connection tokens and emojis to reach people in ways not intended.
GhostChat is not responsible for what users say or share. You are fully responsible for your own actions and the content you send.
4. Data and Privacy
GhostChat does not create accounts, track your identity, or store chat history. To keep the service working, we process minimal technical data such as IP address, device type, and connection timestamps. This information exists only for a short time and is deleted after it’s no longer needed for networking or security.
We do not sell data or use it for advertising. For details, read the GhostChat Privacy Policy.
5. Illegal Activity and Cooperation With Authorities
We do not monitor private messages and we usually have no visibility into what users say. If we receive a valid legal order, or if there is a credible report of serious harm or illegal activity, we may take reasonable steps such as ending an active session, blocking related IP addresses, or sharing the minimal technical data we hold at that time with law enforcement as required by law.
6. Keeping GhostChat Safe
We may limit or restrict access to protect our community and the integrity of the service. This includes removing temporary codes, blocking IP addresses involved in abuse, or suspending technical access when needed for security or legal reasons.
7. Intellectual Property
You own the messages and content you send. You give GhostChat a temporary license to process and relay that content only for your current session. The GhostChat name, design, and software belong to the Operator. You may not copy, modify, or sell any part of our service.
8. Security and Limits
We use TLS encryption to protect traffic and process chats only in memory. No system is perfectly secure or anonymous, and network conditions or third-party factors can affect performance. Use GhostChat responsibly and avoid sharing information you would not want others to see.
9. Disclaimers
GhostChat is provided as-is and as available. We do not guarantee continuous access, uptime, or fitness for any purpose. The Operator is not responsible for user behavior or for losses that result from your use of the service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data since chats are ephemeral by design. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total responsibility in any twelve-month period will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the service (typically €0) or €0. Nothing here limits liability for gross negligence, fraud, or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Ending or Changing the Service
You can stop using GhostChat at any time. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue features or access at our discretion, especially to maintain security or comply with the law. Because messages are never stored, we cannot restore any chat once it ends.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Bucharest, subject to the consumer protection laws that apply in your country of residence.
